happiness

Good question.
(here goes another whacky theory
)
Although happiness as an emotion is relative and differs from person to person, I believe true happiness is simply satisfying the most primal necessities that every human has, both on a concious and a sub-concious level.
Sex, food&drink, hunting&gathering, drugs, rock 'n roll
.
The placebos:
Money:
A component of social structure that does not make happy.
No money voids obtaining most of the above.
Surplus of money generates a surplus of several of the above elements which then cease to be achievents.
Love - an overrated chemical reaction, as such it can also appear in inverse form (hate). It also requires interaction with another individual and cannot be controllably achieved. Therefore not a core component of true happieness.

Do these relate to emotions? In particular the emotion of happiness?Sex, food&drink, hunting&gathering, drugs, rock 'n roll .
Or are they instinctive? Basic function for all animals - hunger/thirst, the need to procreate and fight or flight ?
And a step further is anger a primary or secondary emotion? Can you simply feel angry? Or is anger a response to feeling hurt, rejected, disgusted, etc?
And what is the difference between an emotion and a feeling?

p.s. why are you lot giving me all these opportunities to flex my professional muscles?

P.....ed Off
As a regular reader of this forum but not a member,(simply because I am not that interesting) I must recommend that you stop forcing Maddi to bore us to death with her way of earning a crust, surely the pressures of the day are quite enough wihout being 'forced' to talk and write about to us nosey parkers.I would suggest to her that she does what a lot of us may do, pretend,be what you would like to be with all the anonyimity that a forum allows. I think most of a population are saddled with jobs that they may consider as 'Boring' and so try to find escape and relief on forums an chat rooms, having a laugh (remember?)Give us all a break Maddi and take up knitting, it may even make you more interesting to others.

That post is not even worth the effort to delete. Mr. Angry, as mentioned a million times before, nobody is forcing you to read anything - if maddi's (or anyone else's) banter bores you, just don't read it.

And what is the difference between an emotion and a feeling? emotion - more durable state, feeling - usually momentary followed by an emotional state (anger, happiness, etc.)

Hi G
Good thought processes and mostly reflecting popular opinion but there are others who would disagree especially about the "anger" point, meanwhile we have stretched Joao Pedro's question, and to answer that I can only come up with something flippant and more at home in the Jokes section but it did take me back to Ron Bendall!!!!!!
Maddi
p.s. I told you it was cyclic - how bizarre !!

Mr Angry
boring
amazing how any form of protest brings out the brown noses and gutless.
G, your remark about not using right to delete in such an off hand manner only proves, as I have thought for some time that you lack both the maturity and sense of humor to have such power,I know of many children who would show a maturity well in advance of yours. This forum lacks three things,(1)not being allowed to speak one's mind and(2)lot of men not having the balls they may have been born with. My postings may be rude and insulting but at least I don't jump to the protection of someone who on most occasions adds nothing but a load clap trap, and worse still people actually read it. Do I hear the hammering of nails into the coffin of Maddi.com(oops sorry)Carvoeiro. com. Amen. All yours now censors

Go for it
Mr. Angry,
My immaturity and inability to handle such moderation power has been prooven several times before and is not news to anybody here.
Secondly, we have also seen on several occasions how sombody just like yourself complains about the lack of content of some of the posts. A post like yours has never failed to trigger exacly the same response every time - who cares??
Everyone is free to watch, post in or ignore whatever subject they want - you are free to voice your opinion on any subject, but for heaven's sake stop with the old "this subject bores the s*it out of me" routine and move on to the next thread.
