Bus Service from Faro Airport

Has anyone any experience of travel from Faro Airport to Carvoeiro by bus?

My family are visiting later this year and 2 of them arrive 3 hours later than the main party, this means that I either drive back to the airport to collect them or they get here by bus or taxi.

Any thoughts/suggestions

Not sure about bus service, but a good tip would be to go to First Choice desk in airport (or any other holiday desk) and see if you can get on a transfer to CVO not so expensive!!!!

I am also interested to hear anyone's ideas on this subject having had a similar scenario last year and knowing I have got the same problem when we arrive in August (on Friday 6th August if anyone can help !).

Last year I asked all the tour reps at the airport on the day I needed extra transport but none could help on that occasion, so I drove to and fro to Faro airport like a yo-yo. In theory, if the tour operators have space on any of their coaches, they will take extra passengers but you can not book this in advance as they don't know (or so they said) what their numbers are until the flights actually arrive. So you just have to take pot luck on the day you arrive.

I also looked into buses. It seems you have to take a bus or a taxi to the bus station in Faro town centre and then get a bus out to Carvoeiro. We never got as far as trying this out but I did get two contact addresses from the tourist information office : CAIMA Transportes on tel : +351-289-812980 and RENEX Transportes on tel : +351-289-589603.
