Hi all,
Travelling to Carvoeiro in August and looking for a few tips on two subjects. Family of 4 arriving at Faro Airport at 11.00pm on Sunday night 31st July. Would anybody in Carv be interested in renting out an apartment for one night as the apartment in Monte Dourado is not available until 1st August. If not I think I'll book into the Monaco hotel at the airport and travel to Carvoeiro the following morning. Just putting out the feelers if it was a date free between rentals for anybody. A bed for the night is really all that is required. Secondly I need to get an all in price for a couple of transfers see below. Can you let me know if you know of somebody at a competitive rate who would look after this. It is a little different to the normal transfers and it might be more suited to a taxi driver rather than the normal transfer people.

transfer from Faro to Carvoeiro for 4 on 1st August (thats is provided I dont get an apartment in Carv on 31st July)
transfer from Carvoeiro to Alvor for 4 on 10th August
transfer from Faro to Alvor for 1 on the evening of 10th August
transfer from Alvor to Faro for 5 on 18th August.

I know the likely reply is to hire a car but I always find the heat too much for driving in August and the traffic too busy to bother so the car would sit at the door for the three weeks as it has in the past. As the title says any advice would be appreciated. "cant wait to get back to my true home" !!!!!

Hi Robbie,

Can't help you with the apartment, you could try the Carvoeiro Sol?

Email Easygo for a quote on your transport requirements, they are quite reasonable:-

Speaking as an apartment owner, the cost of preparing the apartment, then cleaning and doing washing afterwards would make it too expensive for just one night compared with the cost of a hotel room.

THinking about it, double check with the apartment owners - you may well find that they can make an exception and let you in a day early - I would imagine that all the cleaning and preparation will have been done by the time you would get there.

Hi, could Monte Dourado themselves help you out? We were faced with a similar problem-due to arrive 23rd Aug but apt wasn't ready til 24th (private owner). Monte D found another apt for us for 1 night til we could move into proper one. Private owner was going to cover all costs for us as it was a booking mix up on his part-but Monte D have their own cleaning teams so sure they would just charge you accordingly? Since it has all been sorted as family before us cancelled phew! Speak to Nelly at Monte D if you haven't already & hope u get sorted!
