Hotel in CVO

I have stayed in villas in Carvoeiro for my main annual holiday. I also go away to a hotel every New Year to various locations, staying in Dublin last year and Portugal a few years ago. Due to my love of CVO I am considering CVO for New Year. I am aware of the Tivoli Hotel and I have got a price. I am also aware of The Carvoeiro Sol but I don't like the look of this hotel. Can anyone tell me the name of the hotel on the road towards Aries Dos Moinhos? On the left opposite Barclays Bank and just before A Mariqueira Restaurant. Or any other suggestion. Thanks.

Thanks Andy. That's the Almansor out of the running then. Might even look at slightly better hotels such as Alba Suites. Thanks again.

The cvo sol is much better that it looks although I've only had a few nights there from time to time including in the winter.

Lamby, why not have a look at the Vila Domilu. Our parents stayed there and found it very pleasant. I don't think it is part of a chain. its a very professionally run enterprise and has lovely facilities. The Cristal didn't come close when we checked it out and its only €5 into town in a taxi.

I am sure no one is particularly interested, but I have booked five nights in Edinburgh over New Year - or should that be Hogmany. I did look at various hotels in CVO for New Year but I opted for Edinburgh as I haven't been and there is plenty to do. Having said that, the price I have paid I could have flown to CVO and stayed in a hotel!! So fireworks at Edinburgh Castle it is
