Passed Vila Medici and was told it reopens today.
Hope food is as good as it was earlier.

It looks like they have spent a fortune on it, it looks impressive

OK. Shoot me if I am wrong, but I THINK that the man who owns VM also originally ran it as far as the menus and concept were concerned. The manager etc all left to go to Prima Vera. This has left the original owner now back putting the VM back on the map. Ate there today and the menu is fairly similar, new staff (obviously) and they did an excellent job. Not cheap (but it never was) but anyone who liked the previous VM will be more than happy with the new one.

As the saying goes you dont get anything for nothing so if its as good as before its well worth the money. Have they extended it at the back there was a whole pile of work going on there a few weeks back?

I sat on the front terrace in lovely wicker chairs and solid wood tables but did not go inside the restaurant so not sure if the back has been extended or not. Not sure where they could have extended to, to be honest?

went myself friday night-opening night- and food was lovely.
Had a very nice grilled monkfish with prosecco sauce...
Must say that had to wait a bit but was worth it.
Anyway very brave to open in the hight of the season with all new staff.
At the back they created a beautiful terrace where this week they are going to
fit a prosecco lounge bar with comfortable sofas and easy chairs.
You can see that no money was spared in the whole restaurant.
Must say that I look forward going there more often after the hectic season.
