Goodbye Chorley, Hello Carvoeiro
Goodbye Chorley, Hello Carvoeiro
We are leaving a very wet and grey Chorley today
and flying out to Carvoeiro for 11 days
('Can't wait' doesn't come close)
Both my teenage daughters were up, showered and ready before 7:00AM which is quite an achievement in the summer holidays...
I'd just like to says thanks for this forum. We haven't been to Portugal before but I have learnt lots of very useful information from this site and we are all looking forward to exploring the area and especially trying the steak on a stone!
Cheers

Hope you all have a great holiday in Carvoeiro and enjoy the weather, the sunshine and the food!!! Oh, almost forgot, the cocktails and beer too....

MJH - first time in CVO? You'll fall in love with the place.
Do us all a favour though and don't tell everyone. I've kept it fairly quiet for the last 21 years!!

It may take a few days to unwind to the Carvoeiro pace, but once you get into the pace you'll enjoy it. Go with the flow and the hills !!
Wish I was with you.

Re: Goodbye Chorley, Hello Carvoeiro
Isn't it great when someone has successfully used these forums to find out all about Carvoeiro before arriving. There's so much info that it must almost seem like they have been before when they arrive. Every where they go they will see places they have read about, but with the important difference that they will be able to visit them in person.
Re: Goodbye Chorley, Hello Carvoeiro
Thanks for all the comments
We had a great time in Carvoeiro. Blue skies & glorious sunshine every single day, very friendly people and the food was excellent. (Not pleasant arriving back at Manchester Airport to 13 degrees, in the dark to very heavy rain...)
We stayed at the Tivoli at the top of restaurant hill so it was just a short walk down to the centre. (First time we got to the square I was playing 'Spot the Webcam' that I had been checking almost daily before we flew out).
We've had a great relaxing holiday and we will certainly return. There were several places we intended to visit but we became too 'relaxed' some days and couldn't move away from the pool. There're on the list for next time. I can also recommend the Tivoli - very clean rooms with a great view of the cove.
Cheers all

Woohoo, another satisfied holiday maker. Going to have to put a limit to "all" these smiling faces wandering around the web cam area !!
