we are heading out next Saturday for 2 weeks of sun, beer and music. As usual we will be calling into the jailhouse for some of Dave's entertainment. Just wondering what other pubs should we consider this year for live music/karaoke ?

We arrive next Saturday, staying for 10 nights.

Our favourite and usual haunt, after dinner, is the Round Up Saloon - karaoke there on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays going by previous years, with Alan & Ade hosting it - good night in the Round Up gteed.
Their live music is usually OK - last year it was a Portuguese guy, can't remember his name but he was pretty good.

As for the sun part of your post - i hope so, but towards end of this week Portugal incl. the Algarve is forecast Thunderstorms for a couple of days, so hopefully they'll pass through by next Saturday otherwise my wife will be in a sulky mood!

Karaoke try Safari Bar under The Irish Times, live music Bradys or The Black Stove...if you like it loud and heavy try SOS bar. If you walk 3 minuted to Monte Carvoeiro they have had live music 3 nights a week all Summer. Stcky Fingers, Kat Blu, Rudy Jacket, Johnny White all playing outside in the square...google them and you will find details, hope this is handy

Most of those bars are listed on our site finditalgarve.com but if there are any more get them to send us details and we will promote their events for them, they are all welcome as we put together a single place where Carvoeiros great eateries and bars can showoff their wares  .

" putting Carvoeiro in front of thousands of new people"

If your preference is for real music sung by those with a voice rather than just noisemaking song stranglers ( Karaoke ) then include Bradys in your list of places to visit.
We were there again on tuesday night when a duo " Twin Flames " perform.
The place was full and everyone was having a good time.
It is a pity that they have to stop at midnight as they could have gone on for a lot longer as few of us wanted to go home that early.
