Can anyone of you who know the area please tell me which has the best positioning for a holiday without a car, is there supermarkets in walking distance and easy walk to town? Anyone had experienses with these villas? Which would you prefer?
Again; I hope it is not out of protocol to ask these questions.
Thanks!

Re: Help with deciding holiday villa
How long will you be on holiday for? There are no big supermarkets within walking distance but plenty of minimarkets that are quite well stocked but more expensive. So, maybe the answer is to get a taxi to do a couple of big shops and then top up at the minimarkets.
Re: Help with deciding holiday villa
We will be there for 2 weeks. So no big supermarkets nearby in 20 minutes walking distance?
Re: Help with deciding holiday villa
Stayed in Vila Elizabete and really loved it.
There is a minimarket a few houses down the street which was great for everyday supplies and not terribly expensive. Then the municipal market is a little further down the same street and it is good too.
what we did was get the bus to Lagoa and shopped in Pingo doce for our big shop each week and either got a bus back or a taxi. Just topped up our supplies in between locally.
We also went into Portimao on the bus and that was a good trip.
The villa owner had all the bus timetables available, found them very helpful. She was very helpful in general.
Location wise it was really good to get to the beach (although the other villa looks like a good location too but I havent stayed there!!)
Hope this helps you. I'm sure you will love Carvoeiro wherever you decide to stay. But you are right to choose somewhere close to the town and beach and not have to drive.

Would agree with this. I use that minimarket and municipal market for some day to day supplies and then there are other minimarkets in town. Pingo Doce is good, also Intermarche supermarket between Carvoeiro and Lagoa. Also nearby is a good restaurant with free wifi, and plenty more further down the road on 'restaurant hill' and in town.aussie wrote:Stayed in Vila Elizabete and really loved it.
