Have the fuel prices been climbing since Christmas ?

A friend of mine in Poland said the fuel price has almost doubled there since Christmas, from about 70 cents to 1.40 euro/litre. Pretty bad considering their pay is so much lower than U.K. standards.

EMM, I'm not quite sure if you're trying to show off you knowledge of Portuguese or whether you're doing an intentional 'Del boy' style quote but the excellent store in question is called Påo de Açücar , and means Sugar Loaf, which is also the name of the mountain in Rio de Janeiro (January river )

you can, if you still want say Bread and Sugar, Påo e Açücar

Sunman, you did well with Sugar Loaf with your "limited knowledge". I'd have gone for sugar butty myself.

So, back to the topic. Fuel prices seem to be leveling out across Europe. O.K. for the "richer" countries, not so good for the poorer ones though.

I know that its sugar loaf but we have heard it called Bread and Sugar and our Portuguese neighbours think that is a better name
Who are we to argue.

The reference prices usualy are Galp, BP and Repsol.
Then we have Pão de Açúcar, and Intermarché type wich do about 10 cents less in price per liter.

For me, the best place to put fuel is in Repsol at Portimão. They have 8cts discount everyday at all times and I have a card from Montepio bank that grants me an additional 6cts, which means I get a 14cts discount per liter. (If you have axa or seguro directo car insurance you also get the additional 6cts).

You can find prices for gas in this website. It is in Portuguese and they try to maintain the prices updated.
