Directions

Post by JimD »

I'm in the process of building a web site for our villa in Areias dos Moinhos and trying to give directions to the local golf courses. Vale de Milho is nearby, so I think I can work that one out, but which is the best route Pestana golf courses?
I've seen the sign on the road from Lagoa to Carvoeiro taking the right fork, but no idea from there

Jim - after taking the right fork, continue for about 1000m to small roundabout - bear right (signed Pestana) and go up hill until you reach the water tower. Turn right at the water tower (just before mini roundabout) and follow the road down a hill, round a sharp left then right hand bend and The entrance to Gramacho is on your right.

For Pinta, keep going on past Gramacho to the bottom of the hill, turn right at the roundabout and right at the next roundabout and you are at Pinta.

However, if you are trying to direct from the Lagoa lights there is an easier way! - from Faro direction go straight through Lagoa lights - turn left at the next set of lights (by doing the usual right turn thingy) then after about 500 metres (just after petrol station either side of the road) turn left at the roundabout (if you went straight on you will find slide and splash)

This road runs along the 18th fairway of Pinta, and the roundabout at the end is the entrance to Pinta. For ramacho, just go straight over this roundabout, left at the next and Gramacho is just up the hill on the right (it is all well signposted around here)

Hope this helps

Graham,
Thanks very much. I think I will use your directions verbatim on the web site
Are you a golfer? have you played these? Only asking because I haven't had the chance to yet and can't wait
