Bribe it, sardines usually work best.

If that fails, sedate it, wooden hammers usually work best :P

 Oh dear Ellie, you have set the old memory wandering! I even remember the parties and I went to Woodstock!!!!! my good how old am I.
Still they were the 'good old days' hey :)
Don't know about the cat though, I can never stop my two from following me around everywhere, they even come out with me when I take the dog for a walk, I look really stupid walking a dog and two cats  Have a great time in London. We are up (or should that be along from Somerset) this weekend, staying with eldest daughter and meeting up with second daughter for dinner and cocktails as it is her birthday. Boa Tarde

The Cat goes out
And the cat comes back
And no one can follow
Upon her track.
She knows where she's going
She knows where she's been, all we can do
Is to let her in." --Marchette Chute

"Dogs come when they are called; cats take a message and get back to you." --Mary Bly

"Who the Hell do you think you are? A superstar? Well right you are! We all shine on like the moon and the stars and the sun..."

John Lennon, "Instant Karma"

The tom cat and the tabby cat were courting in the back yard. The tom cat leaned over the tabby cat and with pent up passion purred ' I'd die for you'.

The tabby cat looked at him through lowered eye lids and purred back ' how many times?'
