Really Gerry - and you a Publican and all!
Snakebite and Black is half cider, half lager with a blackcurrant top. (Tastes a lot like Ribena but is serious falling over juice) - was a popular drink with younger ones about twenty years ago, and most pubs in my area refused to serve it 'cos it stains like nobody's business when it makes a reappearence (as it often did)
go on - have one - I know you're dying to!

Fantastic - probably the fastest multiple replies ever - I think we have found a common denominator in early dodgy alcoholic experiences.
Anyone remember only having enough money for a bottle of Cinzano - or when you thought 'top deck' shandy was actually drinking? - Who will confess that they thought gin and bitter lemon was 'cool'? When did anyone last try the can trick (pierce can with nail, suck out all the air, pull the ring and then have entire contents of can go down throat in a nanosecond)
Let's have those early experiences

Clan Dew, I think it was called, some kind of whiskey based cheap drink,
and Cider (behind the council sheds) Ugh!
I remember my 14th Birthday party when we'd all clubbed together to buy Cider and Lager and Cigs, Mum came home early and we had to put it all in the Attic, it stayed there for weeks, much to the disgust of all my friends who'd clubbed together to buy it!!
