Quinta dos Vales

Post by widge »

Had an "open day" today & it was brilliant. Entry was free as was everything else apart from your wine glass (€1) & your lunch Sushi, Suckling Pig sarnies, Grilled Chorizo & Presunto sarnies etc.

Guided tour of the winery, free wine (4 glasses per guest) cookery demonstration, live music, horse riding, Bangkok TukTuk taxi service lot's of local produce for sale & everybody enjoying the sunshine. Bought a case of Grace Branco with 15% discount :D

Put it in your diary !!!

So where in Bristol, is Quinta dos Vales, Widge? :) There is a Little Lisbon down the road from me in Camden Town! Very friendly place it is too.

Sadly we arrived too late on Sunday to attend open day. Met a chap today who went with his family and had a great day. We tried some time ago to visit during their normal opening times but gates were locked. Would have preferred being behind the lock gates........cannae beat a "lock in".

We went last summer, had to call to make an appointment, left with a few ( free ) sample bottles of wines we had tasted.

We went a few weeks ago and found the gates closed so tried the intercom and they let us in and were very welcoming-generous wine tasting and a nice stroll around the vineyard and small animal zoo before loading up the car with a few cases of their fine wine. Well worth a visit
