Gold Car on the telly

Anybody see the programme "Your Money - Their Tricks" on BBC last night (17/6/13)?
A section on car hire company rip-offs featured our old friends GoldCar. Viewers would have been interested in the tricks the firm gets up to, but anyone who visits this website regularly will have seen nothing they didn't know already. It was all there . . . Low rental fee advertised, then add-ons mentioned when actually booking. Charging for full tank of fuel at inflated prices. One woman was charged for a full tank of 68 litres. When she pointed out that the car's manual stated a tank capacity of only 52 litres she was told some models of that car had larger tanks. Total nonsense of course! And no refunds if you returned the car with fuel left in the tank. They also highlighted the firm's claim that the rental cost quoted included full insurance, but as we on here know, to get full cover costs quite a few euros extra. Hopefully this expose will warn a few more folk off this company in future

Yes I did and made me think of comments made by forum members about their under hand dealings over petrol, but this made me think even more that i want to make sure our guests don't use them.

Pay attention at the back, or pay for not listening (reading).

Pete you make me confused, but I guess in English it's read the small print, but in all honesty how many people read pages of T & C's. Still think people need to be warned this is what will happen. I am sticking with Travelrent or YOR. Think i should get an idea for our guests what other recommendations people have on the forum regarding car hire.

Drive4Fun are a reasonable company to recommend Licy. Like many rental companies they do charge for "out of hours" drop off & collection so make sure that your flight times won't incur unnecessary charges.

Worth remembering that if you send the right AlgarveDriver link to your guests then you can pick up the loyalty bonus on the back of their bookings.
