I have read a few restaurant reviews recently and it mentions 'pushy' waiters tryingt o get you into their restuarants. I really really hate this practice when I am on holiday as I like to browse as I wander along! Is this a normal paractice in Carvoeiro? Or is it just a few I need to avoid. Thanks!

In Albufeira it is very prevalent but in CVO I am not aware of that at all!

"Not in Surbiton on Sea " A Rede at the top of restaurant hill is the only place where we have seen this,
One of the waiters from the Indiano hands out flyers and that is it,

A Rede certainly used to do this, but on last 2/3 visits we were not bothered by the 'hard sell'. I wonder did they take notice that Vimar, Marisquera, Primavera and Villa Medici all within a few yards of their front door were twice as busy as they were and change policy? Either way A Rede has been very busy on our last few visits and not pushy.

Never seen this in cvo , yes the boy at A rede stands outside but usually just gives you a pleasant good evening on your way past certainly not pushy. Don't worry about going to carvoeiro its great no hassle from anyone you'll love it and almost certainly return.

Totally agree, worst I experienced was a bit of FRIENDLY banter with the waiter at A Rede, they were busy and he arranged seats for my wife and myself in the bar next door while we waited for a vacant table. The guy running the place at the time was even more entertaining, every night seems to be his birthday. :D :D

I am happy to report that this year I was not once 'hussled' by A Rede, but in previous years it was a bit of a nuisance

not the only one either

I'm one such road-crosser. There's only so many times they can pester, week after week, until it gets very grating
but to answer Stairpark's question: No, there are no pushy restaurants in Cvo, all are happy to let you look at the menu without bothering you. Sometimes there may be a staff member nearby but in general they (like the Portuguese in general)leave you alone. I have never had a bad meal in cvo, all were good, some were terrific. Most restaurants are consistant, some vary a bit from visit to visit but on the whole we are blessed to have so many good restaurants in such a relatively small town.
