There have been various threads about this in the past and I know I answered a similar question last year or the year before that so probably worth having a trawl through past posts. Lots of places are open both in the village and elsewhere but you do need to book for New Year's Eve. Price varies from cheap and cheerful line dancing (Ponte Romano in Silves - around 40 euros inc of all food and drink), to O Barradas (at Palmeirinha on the road to Silves - one of our favourites - not sure what they will charge this year but a wonderful meal) to the Bon Bon which I'm sure will be doing something under the new management but it won't be cheap, to Chrissy's in Lagoa (excellent food and some live music in the past.)
That's what happens when it's cold and damp in England - we start thinking and plotting about sunnier climes! Looking forward to another New Year break out in cvo.

Thanks all. We were in Carvoeiro at the beginning of the month and asked a few restaurants about New Years Eve and all said they would be closed. Ele & Ela being one of them. O Barradas is also a favourite of ours too. So now we have a choice, will decide & book soon!

We went to Primavera last year, but there are not many in the village. Indeed I seem to recall an Irish guy sitting next to me last year.
You could always have a party as there are a few of the forum there over NYE. Just give us your address.

Macassa, Lazerblazer and by the looks of a few who have posted on this thread would join you I'm sure.
