Jet2 - Fare and baggage costs increases
Already booked in for May and just looking at flights for our September visit. Bit of a shock how much prices have jumped. Preferred airline is Jet2, because they fly from our local airport (Manchester) at convenient times. 8-0 am departure and return from Faro at 12 noon. Obviously travelling midweek and at less convenient times is cheaper, but not that much.
The basic ticket price has increased well above inflation and extras have also risen. A 22kg suitcase has been £35 per person for a while, now it is £45 per person. pre-booked seat prices have also risen.
Departing 30 August and returning 13 September would cost £560 for two people when baggage and seat choice is added. Strangely, if travelling a week later (6 September and returning 20 September) the fare would be even more at £590. The equivalent flight last September was £496. I expected raised fares, but this was a bit of a shock.

add bags and seats and you should still be under £300, return a day earlier and you should have change out of £250. (Ry will allocate a seat free anyway, so no hopefully
, no more queues.
I have now edited this post to remove the link to Ryanair website showing fares from Liverpool to Faro on 30th Aug/13th Sept as it will only drive the price up on those dates if there are lots of hits.
