Carvoeiro Club
Carvoeiro Club
Has anybody stayed at the Carvoeiro Club? We are booked there in June for 2 weeks and would appreciate any feedback you can give. We have a 2 year daughter - is the centre of Carvoeiro in walking distance?
Carvoeiro sounds like a lovely place - CAN'T WAIT.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Simon,
Carvoeiro Clube is a bit on the large side to be able to evaluate distance, it really depends on where you are staying. The current map is at
http://www.carvoeiro.com/developments/c ... CClube.gif
It is a quiet villa settlement with a tennis club that includes a health and fitness studio, a pool and a restaurant. Small shopping facilities are available within 2kms, but the walk into town (or better to say back out of town) could prove a bit tiring as the first bit is up a steep hill.
Hire car is always advisable in the Algarve as things are very spread out and public transport is not reliable. Taxis are not expensive but can be scarce in high season, especially right after dinner.
P.S. you will need a car to reach the long sandy beaches which are more suitable for kids. The coves around Carvoeiro dont allow for much playground and the shallow parts can be quite rocky. Armação de Pera lies roughly 15kms east of Carvoeiro and goes all the way to the river separating it from Galé beach, roughly 2kms in lenghth.
