until recently only 15% of Americans held a passport, Cowboy will hopefully give us some more recent details but I hear that number went up a bit as more people wanted to cross into Canada and Mexico.

& I can't help thinking this survey is flawed, London is now the Number 1 tourist destination on earth so should UK be 5th? & I'm struggling to accept that Austria would be more popular than Greece let alone Ireland or France.

maybe we should have our own European poll; clearly Carvoeiro is the best destination but after that I like France (food & wine to die for), Spain (Salamanca, Seville & Barcelona are fab-u-lous) & Italy & Greece tied 3rd, (both for their Islands, meze in Greece, wine & food in Italy)

There's a certain pub in Glasgow that serves the best pie, chips and mushy peas in the world. Not telling name as our secret.
Outside Glasgow? Love Barcelona, spent a weekend with son and 2 pals ( an 18th birthday present to son) that included attending El Classico football match! My pal speaks very good Spanish.......with a Glasgow accent so was interesting when he ordered in the various bars we visited!!

Hi Smudger,
Does it begin with "H" and end with "E" and boast the longest uninterrupted bar counter in Europe?

Hi Smudger,
Favourite memory of ""H ...E" is after a cultural weekend in Embra for the Festival, we stopped off at "H...E" for a drink before catching Paisley train and it was Sunday Night Karaoke upstairs! If we ever needed a reminder on how both cities are so diametrically opposed that was it.

" Where it began , I can't begin to know it............................................."

CK.

P.S. Up for that afternoon meet anytime this week, bones feeling a lot better.
