Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia effects

Post by roy4eyes »

We decided to have a long weekend break for our wedding anniversary at the end of February and so went to Tripadvisor to see what was available.

Monte Gordo is one of our favourite spots being close to Spain but to our amazement the Vasco da Gama hotel was fully booked and Apartotel Dunas (our second choice) had only one room left.

Out of interest I checked at several hotels in the Algarve from Tavira to Lagos and found many hotels either fully booked or last few rooms available and with fewer discounted rooms than previous years at this time.

Hopefully the problems in other resorts are resulting in benefits to the Algarve and we can look forward to a bumper year which can only be to the benefit of Portugal as a whole and hopefully to their heavily taxed and relatively poor residents.
