Travelling to Carvoeiro with a Dog

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience of bringing a dog on holidays to Carvoeiro and if so any advice e.g. are there any dog friendly hotels or apartments? Is it much hassle with flight and transfer? etc.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Can't help really but all I know is there are some pretty tough amego dogs in Cvo so don't let it out at night.

Thanks Pato, all joking aside you make a very valid point.

This thought had already crossed our minds as a couple of years ago we seen a small dog being viciously attacked by a very large dog in the middle of the day in Carvoeiro. The smaller one got away but seemed like he had been hurt as he ran away yelping the whole way down the street with his owner following after him.

You probably know that Easyjet say : " Animals aren't allowed on any flight, in either cabin baggage or the hold.

Service or helping dogs can travel on selected flights. "

Some friends of ours have brought a dog out , but they come for months at a time and take the ferry to France and drive down. I believe dogs can go on the Plymouth/Santander route too.

We are getting our first dog later this year and like your friends we sometimes stay reasonably long in Carvoeiro so I posted this topic to start thinking ahead of how we will manage the trips.

Have to make sure we can still enjoy our visits over to our favourite place
