Just wondering if the the Amphitheatre has been completed behind the church yet,I was visiting over xmas and it appeared to be,well sort of half finished anybody got any news on the subject.

I was over in January and also February, seemed finished to me. What I didn't like was the design of the seating area. The use of red blaise directly behind the stone slab curves the audience sits on seems a bit strange. In January it had rained and the seating area was rather mucky with the red blaise that had been washed onto the seating areas. Presumably, in the dry season someone will wash/sweep the seating before any performance. Or take a cushion!

Looked finished to me last week and all the slabs/seats looked clean.

However, no indication anywhere of what it will be used for or when.

It will be a great place for outside concerts so I hope it is well used this season as would like to enjoy the venue. It is another example of the town improving itself. Shame about the jazz club though!

Yep that's as good as it gets. Most theater troops bring in all the props they need so no need for anything else.

Talking of ampitheatres - whats hppening at Sitio des Fontes - that one was only refurbished 3 yrs ago and now its being ripped up again?
