On our first trip to Carvoeiro over ten years ago, the Carvoeiro Annual Summer Festa was in full swing. Ricardo Sousa was on stage singing to a large crowd of varying ages from toddlers to octogenarians, all of whom were either dancing, clapping or swaying to the beat of his music. On subsequent occasions and again on a recent visit we noted that his appeal and popularity has not waned – one can see from the huge crowds attracted to the beach area (on Wednesday and Sunday nights) that Ricardo is on stage. His performance is an eclectic mix of music which appeals to all ages, from the very young to the teenagers and the not so very young! Well done Ricardo – you and Carvoeiro are synonymous and we, hopefully, look forward to many more Carvoeiro Festas and to listening to your uplifting music delivered with so much spirit and energy.

I have never been there when he has been on, I must try and find some of his music to listen to.

On Wednesday & Sunday nights. These sessions will cease at end of September when Summer entertainment ends. The music he sings in Carvoeiro can vary greatly from what he performs for younger audiences!
