We are planning to drive to Carvoeiro through France and Spain in late October.
Has anyone any suggestions for stopovers. I am particularly interested in La Rochell/Ile de Re, Bordeaux/Arcachon, and San Sebastian.

Cap Breton - just north of Biarritz is a typical French resort at half the price of more wellknown places, Hotel Ocean is a few sreps from the beach with safe parkng and a superb fish restaurant next door. Phone direct for best price - proprietor speaks good English but some staff do not so 'apprenez le francais' !! See hotel on tripadvisor and resort on you tube.
