Its to do with Laptop please!
Ive got things sorted through AOL regarding getting online whilst in CVO but just a simple question (well not for me

)..will my Tel.connect cable from laptop fit ok into tel.socket there okay?or do I need special one out there please?
Sorry if this sounds daft but Ive just thought of it..!

ellie, does your cable have a slightly smaller plug on the end into the laptop than the other end into the wall...?
if so you may need an adaptor......you're gonna need a small plug both ends.......
also... I dont think your modem will work with PT .....but you can overcome this by asking PT to disconnect the voicemail........

ah!….yes ....Tiko….just had a look at
viewtopic.php?t=2887
and steve mentions the adaptor too……
ellie….I seem to remember PT take about a week to disconnect the voicemail thingy (think its known as callminder in the UK)….don’t know why….they don’t have to come out or anything…
.....and you can phone & get it reconnected later....

Ellie, I don't think that will be a problem, the phone line doesn't have voice mail. I have a laptop telephone lead that I don't use as I have cable broadband so you can borrow that if you need to.

Voice mail should not cause a problem with modems. A simple solution is to use a Portuguese ISP. For example
www.clix.pt. Free sign up and local call charges. Set this up as your default connection for AOL if you do not want to set up a clix email account.
