I've been reading the board for a while now and I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone.

I'm moving to Portugal next February and some of the information I have found has been invaluable.

Ranging from getting a car matriculation to bringing my cats over.

I have found answers to questions I had and some to questions I hadn't yet thought about.

Armed with all this information, I hope the transition will be an easy one.

Thanks again to all of you.

 I so agree with you about this site. We havn't moved out to cvo, but have bought a house and spent the last year renovating it, the help from various people on this site has been so useful and everyone has always been able to answer questions and queries that, as you say, you havn't even thought about!
So I agree, Thank you to everyone who uses this site.

…..yes and some people complain about the naughty bits and the going off topic…but it all helps to keep it interesting…..I bet without that stuff many of the people who can help in some way wouldn’t bother tuning in…..

Thanks falcon,

How long have you been living in Carvoeiro and when did you move?
We've had a house there for over 20 years so I feel comfortable moving there. Just going to have to get used to the idea that this is for good this time and that I'll be working.
Me on my tod. What an adventure!

Hi Thunderbolt :)
Couldnt let this pass without wishing you all the very best for next February! How exciting for you and as you say ..big adventure!!
At least you know the place well and feel 'at home ' there?
But it is a strange feeling all the same..packing up/selling up and moving to another country permanently isnt it? Like you cant quite believe it?
When we moved there in early 90s..Id never set foot in Portugal before..
so I was scared..excited..very unsure..all at once!
I went back..on my own..a few years ago..to a job..and felt even stranger..first time on your own is. But I discovered things about myself I never knew. That I could function alone..gave me confidence.
Went again in April alone...and now Im off there next week again and tho I love my family dearly...I can be..
myself! Not just Wife.Mum..Nanna..myself! and I love it
Have a great 'Adventure' Thunderbolt' !.......elliex

Thanks Ellie,

It's great to hear about everyone's experiences on the board. I know they are not all positive but you have to take the smooth with the rough (although I'm all for smooth!).

As I said before, the thought of never again having to set foot on the Tube (which yet again this morning was delayed) is heavenly.

So it's me and my two cats (oh God, sound like a spinster!) and off we go. Hurrah!

I know it's a while away but boy am I excited about it. That and the fact that I'm out there for a week-end in October.
