Now I'm worried

I asked if anyone had heard of or could vouch for this company a few posts back http://www.algarve-prestige-rentals.co.uk/ . I was hoping, as they claim to be based in CVO, that someone might at least be able to confirm their existance. I'm asking again as I'm worried I might be the subject of a scam. Does anyone know of this company please?

Hi Tracy, are these atol protected? They seem to have been around a while, ask who the LOCAL management agent is (looks after the villa) and their phone number and ring them and ask a few questions.) Sorry no one else has can be of help. Looking at the web site I would take a positive view. PM me with anything else.

.....they have a dot co dot uk web address and a postal address in the centre of cvo.......cant some one in cvo pop down to that address and ask them ???

They do have an office in Carvoeiro.

Thanks for the info people. There is no ATOL reference on their letterhead so I'm guessing they're not registered. I'm encouraged that the office does exist but I'd be eternally grateful if someone was passing and could have a recci.

The office is a few doors down from the International Property Centre on the left as you come into the "in " road from Lagoa. It appeared to be functioning normally when I passed there today.

I think that there was in the past an association between the Int Prop Centre and Prestige. The last time that any doubts were expressed on thi site about Prestige Stuart Goodale of IPC posted a reply saying that everything was OK but since IPC has now set up its own management agency I guess that there is no longer any connectionconnection.

There has been a lot of gossip about Prestige recently, and there has certainly been a lot of changes with the staff. I am not sure why there has been so much change in a short space of time and the rumours were not pleasant but I don't know how much of it is true which is why I will not repeat it on the forum!!

I can't believe there have been so many replies to this post from people who don't know anything about the company, but leave the answer hanging as if they know something, but are not prepared to put it in writing. I would like to try to clear up any concerns people might have. I have been a customer of Prestige Properties for nearly twelve years now. Over this period there have been changes in ownership, namely, a split in partnership, and two changes of ownership. These kind of changes happen in many businesses without any change of service to the customer, as has been my experience. The current management, in my opinion, have more experience, and are better qualified than any of the others. The season has now ended, and I am pleased with the results, and the service I have had. Bookings have now started for 2005, and I am happy to continue to give the company my business. I would also add that anyone booking through this company will be well looked after. Finally, I would just like to add that having been impressed with the way Kteee has helped by checking out details for concerned people in the past, to only say that there is an office, would have had me wondering. They do after all contribute to this site with their advert.

In response, I was replying to Digger's post ref their address in Carvoeiro and could confirm that they do indeed have an office in Carvoeiro.

As I have absolutely no experience of this company in any way, and do not know either the management or employees, I didn't feel qualified to offer any further information. I find it is better to only post facts that I am sure of, and confirming they have an office is the best I could do!

I apologise for not having an encyclopaedic knowledge of everyone and everything in Carvoeiro

may I suggest….

Ranger, as you know this firm and are in touch with them, I think you ought to inform their PR dept of this topic and give them the opportunity to clear up any misunderstanding….. They could come out of this with some possitive publicity.
