We all go quiet 'cos we are not sure if we are supposed to respond to adverts on the forum as opposed or in addition to those within the rentals section.
On that subject Steen, I know I have mentioned this before but I think some of us get sucked into asking about accommodattion or even avertising it on the forum as the rentals section does not appear to a be reliable source of availability information. Very few advertisers fill in the availability chart. It is also not always clear the number of people a place sleeps (no of bedrooms not always a good indicator). Perhaps there could be a special deals page or something in the quieter years - I don't know exactly. What I do know is that if you look at the availability pages of most of the properties the vast majority have no-one booked in all year - but funnily enough if try to book one . . .

Thanks Maddi! I think we should all throw some idea's into this one. Good luck to the Rocha Brava posting, I hope they have some response, but for a start it should not be in the General Section. It is also in the Property Section, I assume FOC. There are round about one hundred and eight, paid up advertisers, and if this is the trend, the site will be flooded with "plugs" from these people, who as far as I can see at the moment, advertise their property, and wait. I will not pretend to know how Steen goes about these entries, but possibly one idea to get round the availability problem, would be to allocate a page to each advertiser, and let then enter what they have to offer. The General Forum is good fun. We get compliments, insults, agro, and lots more, but I for one don't want to duck in and out of "plugs" for property all the time.

Thanks for your interest! We are working on a "last minute" solution where the owners will be able to advertise special deals up to 6 weeks before.
As for the owners not using the availability calendar, a possible solution is to disable it for their properties. This way they won't turn up in a search. Let me think a little about it.
Please do not hesitate to forward ideas!

I am aware that this site
may not exist without the advertising revenue that the rentals etc provide. So without them advertising there would not necessarily be a forum for our often totally unconnected ramblings. I do not expect that it is good business practice to upset the advertisers
I guess I am just saying that if the availability information was reliable then forum advertising would be less productive. This would especially be the case if the advertisers could do a late deals special or something (I imagine everyone occasionally gets a slack period or a late cancellation).
I am sure that you, Steen, are policing to ensure that no-one advertises on the forum who are not fully paid up in rentals - co that would just be taking the p***.
Maddi (have got opinions, don't have a property in Carvoeiro - damn
