Has anyone noticed that taxi fares have dropped since they have been fitted with meters? :D .Would be interested to know what the fare is now in a regular taxi to the airport.

We used www.resorthoppa.com. From Faro airport to Carvoeiro was 50 euros return for two of us. Also, our plane was delayed six hours and they were there waiting when we got there.

Re taxi fares - does anyone know the actual rules of the meters? Some taxis arrive with 5 E already on the meter, some with 3.10 (which then goes a long way) then they seem to punch in an arbitrary 0.75 - 1.5E at the end. Any explanation welcome since I nearly got into a debate with one last night that cost twice as much as it used to

i think they start charging from the place where they're parked when called, and then they punch the .75 and 1.50 as minimum charge fee, i think that's illegal by the way because they can only charge from pick up and drop of point only, i'll check and keep you posted.....
