Guest, Clamato Juice is a nice refreshing alternative to tomato juice and here in Canada we use it mostly for a drink called "Bloody Caesar" or "Caesar" for short. Same mixture as for a Bloody Mary, except Clamato Juice instead of tomato juice. You can buy it plain or spicy. If you ever fly Air Canada they usually have some on hand if you ask for a Caesar. All our family or friends go crazy over it when they visit from Germany, but apparently it is not available there or anywhere in Europe. At least we haven't found it yet. Even in the US a "Caesar" is virtually unknown except maybe close to the border. I don't know whether one can improvise and try to mix tomato and clam juice, but where would you get the clam juice unless you chuck a couple of dozen fresh ones  Cheers

Thanks kindly for the info, its taken me ages to find out this much.Heini,if i could just ask one more favour of you.If you happen to have a bottle or can of the stuff around the house could you send me the name of the maker or the distributer and their address or phone no. please.Failing that even the name and address of the supermarket where there sold would be a great help.I know it sounds crazy but if they have a business connection in ireland they might send me a couple of cases.
By the way i don,t know why i,m comming up as guest i hope you didn,t take offense as there was certainly none intended.

Gerry, No, I don't have any in the fridge at the moment but do a Google search for "Mott's Clamato Juice" you'll find some interesting websites and I saw one from a distributor/wholesaler. Good luck and cheers,
