transport help wanted
hello all.
just a quick question.
i am coming to carvoeiro for the first time in september for 2 weeks.
there will be my wife and i and our friends together with their 3 year old son, together with 2 sets of golf clubs.
after looking to rent a car big enough for the fortnight it seems very expensive. therefore i was wondering what the alternatives are??
we only need a bigger car to get from the airport and back with the clubs as a normal 5 seater car will suffice for the duration of the holiday.
is it an idea to get a 5 seater car and have an airport transfer too?
any ideas would be appreciated
thanks
Julian

You have answered your own question here. 2 weeks in a clio or punto (with AC) and pick it up at the airport. Then book a transfer from the airport to the villa and return. It's about £35ew. Divide the total cost by 4 (kids don't count) and everyones happy. here's the link which covers both hire and transfer.

A roof rack might have been a solution for the luggage but I can't see how you can get away with a compact sized car given that you will have to have a child's safety seat fitted for the 3 year old.
I would just go for an estate and accept the cost - it's not too bad when split between the two families.
