Avvie, why not have a look at my showroom in Lagoa.

Its Elite kitchens - opposite the Fatacil next to the jet bike comp. Angel Pilot in the industrial estate.

Maybe not the cheapest but definitely the best .........

Hi Kteee,

The shopping centre you mentioned, is that the one near Guia?

My partner and I are just finalising the purchase of an apartment in CVO and are looking to purchase things like a Video, DVD, Microwave as well as travel cot, high chair, plus curtains and bedding etc. Is the shopping centre the best place to go, do they have a good variety of shops there?

I agree with Worten. Good delivery and after sales service. Dont buy anything with an electric plug from Macro even though it may look good value

Algarve Shopping is at Guia, just past Zoomarine, and has Continente hypermarket, Worten and several small, individual shops which have a good selection of the little extras that make a place more homely.

Just next door is Albufeira Retail Park with Radio Popular, Conforama, Casa, for white goods, furniture, lighting etc. You should be able to get almost everything from one of these places.

I have also been recommended a furniture shop in Algoz, although haven't used it myself, and Movies Malheiro near Portimao has a large selection of furniture.

Algarve Shopping (Guia) is the place to start for everything - worten and radio popular for electrical (white or brown goods) plus lots of others (warehouse, casa, conforama, appliqueluz etc etc).

Pardon my electrical ignorance, but what are white or brown goods? Is that like black market stuff that fell off the back of a truck?

We have just set up our villa, including white goods. Have purchased from Radio Popular, Conforama, and Wortons, without any problems. They even phone you to tell you they are on their way when delivering. Normally takes us two trips, one to identify what we want, and the next to find the best price. Bought an A+ fridge from Wortons on our last visit, and are very pleased with. (We can leave it on when not in residence)

For falcon

White goods/brown goods - "old" phrase used in the electrical retail trade to distinguish:-

White goods - fridges/washing machines/ freezers /toasters etc - kitchen stuff - traditionally were painted white

Brown goods - "living room type stuff - TVs/Stereo systems etc - on the past were usually "finished" in brown colour
