i HIRED A CAR FROM YOR AND THE WING MIRROR WAS SMASHED.
i WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT NEEDED ANYWAY!
TRIED TO WEDGE A BOTTLE TOP BEHIND SMASHED MIRROR SO IT WOULD STAY UP RIGHT!
NOT IMPRESSED
i WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE GUY DRIVE ROUND LONDON WITH NO WING MIRROR AND PAY A HIRE CHARGE FOR THE PRIVLEDGE!
REPLACEMENT CAR WAS FILTHY (GRANTED SHORT NOTICE BUT STILL WAS TREATED AS IF WAS BEING DONE A FAVOUR RATHER THAN RESOLVING ISSUSE!)

That was a nice welcome for you to Tourist friendly Algarve wasnt it. Your only bit of good fortune was that they didnt offer you a glass of Tagus beer while they fixed it.

If you read through this site, YOR always come highly recommended! I have used them 3 times and they have been great every time.

Seems a bit harsh coming on here, not even having the courtesy to sign in as a member then SHOUTING AT US about a real petty problem!!

Get a grip Fred.......... life is toooooooo short!

If your post on here is anything to go by,maybe it was your attitude that made them not want to deal with you properly!

same as greece and most other med countries.nothing new......Shame really a because the Algarve has so muchy more to offer.......but it is true that the People here have no Idea of customer care or how to address a customer.but thats the way it is.....it will take years for them to learn.....unless Government wake up and educate..

It's not dissimilar to the UK.

In many cases Customer Service over here is a thing of the past!

A large number of retail businesses in particular, both large and small, think that they are doing you a favour by actually selling you goods. They don't realise that if it wasn't for your custom they would be out of work and out of business!

I also have had a bad experience with Yor which is Algarvedriver and was given a written apology but if very much ruined the start of my holiday. I wouldn't use them again.

I have used YOR (algarvedriver) about 3 times without problem. The cars are always clean low mileage and the customer service by YOR has been friendly.

We have used YOR many times over the last year, without any problems. We complained about a missing radio arial once, and the rep "took" one from another car (hopefully one of theirs). Otherwise no complaints.

Used YOR last year, good value but did have to wait around at airport for rep when dropping off car.

Rep explained that YOR is a web site run by a guy in holland , not a hire car company in its own right.

It acts as a clearing house for hire car companies taking a booking fee.

If so that would explain the disparate service as obviously the cars came from different scources ???

tbbr, the reps usually tell you to leave the car where you picked it up from as long as there is no damage to report .

I have done this before, and never had a problem.

I also thought Steen Jakobsen who is the webmaster of this site has a hand in the running of Algarve driver/YOR?

Just for info, I have just returned from a 2 week stay in CVO. I hired my people carrier through YOR and had excellent service. We were met at the airport exaclty as promised by a very nice guy, he dealt with the paperwork and had us on our way in 5 mins. The car was clean and in good condition. We had no problems dropping off after our holiday. All in all a great experience and much cheaper than AVIS etc. Now if only you can find a car parking space you'll be fine.

I have used YOR at least 6 times and have never had any problems.
I have also booked on behalf of friends and have had no complaints.
Highly recommended
