Friends of ours due to be staying in Apt 224 at Monte Dourao next month... Would appreciate any comments...

We have stayed at Monte Dourado many times and always had fantastic spacious apartments. The Reception and Maid Service is excellent.

From your room no. I think you will be at Lower Level which means you have to walk up hill to Reception and Tennis Courts but it is good for keeping fit and burning off the calories gained from eating at fantastic restaurants.

Lower Level apartments are near all the shops, bars, restaurants and beach so its ideal and sure you will enjoy your holiday

If anyone has stayed in a 1 bedroom there, would appreciate comments as can only find info on 2 and 3 bedroom apts..

When we went 18 months ago I had only booked and paid for a 1 bed apt but when we got there we were kindly allocated a 2 bed apt. so you might be lucky too.

Just out of interest was that booked via a tour operator or was it done direct?

Monte Dourado doesn't have any 1 BR Apts, as far as I know.

There are 1 bed apartments on the lower level of Monte Dourado. We have a 3 bed, and have seen 2 bed and 2 bed duplex apartments but not a 1 bed - so can't comment on what they are like.

We think the location is excellent - easy walking distance of all the bars, restaurants, beach etc, but not noisy either. It is a bit of a hill up to reception, but you don't need to go there very often - just to check in and out!

All the apartments are privately owned now so what each apartment is like depends on how much the owners have invested in it, however they are all well equipped and the maids and reception are very good.

I'm sure your friends will enjoy their stay.
