My family and I are travelling to Carvoiero in August. Having been to Albufiera and Praio Do Vau previously, can anyone tell me whether it will be quieter. Also has anyone stayed at the Villa Centianes before, it looks very nice on the brochures we have had, but as always need a little reassurance as this is first time we will be staying in a villa. we normally do the apartments. We are totally looking forward to returning to the Algarve again. Is there much for the kids, have 4 of them ages 3, 10, 12 and 13....

Hi Sarah
I though I would respond to you as no-one else has

whilst I have not stayed at the Villa you mention, I hope that I can assure you that you will love Carvoeiro. The town is certainly not really any quieter in August than the others you mention but in my opinion has the most character and the nicest people.
I am sure the children you are travelling with will have a great time, of course there are the waterparks and Zoomarine just as you would visit them from other spots on the Algarve. My kids love staying in a Villa because they get the whole pool to themselves - that means "inflatable olympics" (sorry I think that is my partner not the kids!!).
The beaches around are great and if there is music on the square this year (a big "if" at the moment) then lots of children gather on the beach - sort of under and behind the stage - and they love it!
Have a wonderful time

Hya Sarah
We have just returned from our first visit to Carvoeiro and we had a fantastic time there, although unfortunately we didnt stay at the villa you mentioned, but it is in the brochure that we chose our villa ( Villa Jacaranda) from and that was beautiful and tasteful for us adults, but well equipped and great for the kids.
We were two families sharing with 4 children aged from 9 to 12 and there is lots to do very close by. Our children loved 'Slide n Splash'.......which caters for all ages (from tinies to OAP's!!!) and Zoomarine......there are also lots of lovely little coves/beaches/bars/restaurants and shops and as maddi said....the children did love having a pool to themselves...the only drawback was the kids wanted to take all the inflatables they brought there home with them!!!
Although Carvoeiro is commercial......we felt it has still kept its charm.
We hope you have a great holiday

If it is the one on Val de Milho we satyed there last summer with 3 children 4, 7 & 12 and all had a great time. The villa is comfortable and very nicely furnished and the pool is excellent.
The only problem was convincing the children that the wide screen TV didn't get English programmes - they found out the truth on the last evening.
Have a great time.

Is this Ok?
I cannot see PlayOasis advertising anywhere else on this site, is this due to my inept PC skills or are you using the forum incorrectly?

There is also a lake somewhere near Silves, that although quite basic
is great for a change. Kids love it because they can use jet ski's and canoes, price is quite good as well. Will try and find the name if anyone is interested, picnic essential.

Hi Steen,
Is there a way you can block any new postings from PlayOasis? This is already the third time this evening/early morning I find at a thread the same add! It's getting rather annoying when you open a subject and you are confronted with another Oasis! I hope this "oasis" runs out of water and will get thirsty! so that they buy a normal add at the site like all commercial activities! Or is this "oasis" free of charge?

Is it the "Barragem do Arade" with a restaurant and you have to cross with a boat to "Fantasy Island"?
