buying apartments

Hi

We are in the middle of buying a flat close to Carvoeiro, as we have been going on holiday there for years.
We have a promissory contract - saying that completion is 31st March - everything has ground to a halt and it is becoming a nightmare.
The vendor tells us that we must be patient - surely there must be something we can do toeither make something happen or extricate ourselves - it is very frustrating to have paid the 10% and see no end to the contract.

Any help much appreciated
