New to the village

Post by arthur harding »

Hi

We are coming over to Carvoeiro next week (28th June 2003) to a James Holiday Villa

Details below

We are mother/father daughter and son in law and our 8 month old grandson

Never been to that area before and was wondering what we will will find!!

We have a hire car booked

I guess the normal questions which beach is nearest and is it child friendly and how far away, restranants and bars what would the average cost per family be

Is there a food/fish market and which days and times are they open

Can we cash Euro traveller’s cheques any where and any day.

Are there any boat trips from the bay

And how easy walking is our villa from the main town

Kind Regards

Arthur Harding

VILLA ADDRESS

Mar E Seu, Carvoeiro

DIRECTIONS TO MAR E SEU

On leaving the airport follow the signs for Faro, carry straight on for approx. 3 Kilometres, cross the flyover bearing to the right. Following the sign’s for Lisboa/Portimao, this will bring you onto the N125 road. Keep straight on this road following the signs for Portimao. When the road splits into two directions continue straight onto the IP1 motorway signposted Espanha/Lisboa. Follow the IP1 to Portimao until it becomes the IC4 to Lagos/Portimao, continue until the turn off for Armacao de Pera & Alcantarilha. Follow this road to the roundabout and take the second exit to the N125 Lagos and Portimao passing the “Big One” water park. Continue along this road until you pass 2 BP petrol stations (one on each side of the road). Continue to traffic light, continue through lights until the next set of traffic lights. At these lights you want to turn left into Carvoeiro - so you must go in the right-hand side lane. Go round in circle to lights and go straight across to Carvoeiro. Continue along road and go left at fork. Follow road and pass ‘Intermarche Supermarket’ on your right. Continue straight along road passing the ‘Cepsa’ petrol station on your right. Continue through the resort of ‘Carveiro’ until the tourist office and car park. Turn left and go straight up the hill. Pass the shops & restaurants and continue past the Hotel Mirachoro Praia on your left. Take the next right signposted ‘Algar Seco’. Continue along road passing the signpost ‘Algar Seco’ on your left. Take the 1st right and Mar E Seu is the 2nd house on the right marked No.2 on the wall.

Hi there,

You are in a lovely location and easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants, bars etc. tho' will be uphill on the way back from beach.

The beach isn't the biggest in the world so can get crowded.
Prices vary from restaurant to restaurant and there are so many you will be spoilt for choice.

The local market is very near to you tho can't remember name of steep road but its first major left before your right turn to Algar Seco.
Have a great holiday - think you will return. We will be returning in September and wish we could be there now!!! 8)

Will reply tomorrow in full but the driveing instructions are now out of date and the road (motorway) have been re numbererd. The new extension will take you straight in but the best is junction 7 and it's a doddle from there. Check with James Villas for the correct road numbers. It should contain the A22. If they don't know about this, tell them to ring the local rep.
