We’ll be moving to Algarve

:?: We’ll be moving to Algarve early next year, and Carvoeiro is definitely on our short list of places to settle down. Only problem is our inability/reluctance to pay for private healthcare. So lets hear it from anyone out there who tends to rely on the state healthcare service and with personal experience of surviving the Algarve. What we are “dying” to know is the best areas or municipalities with the best health centres and hospitals.

Thank you, David & Isabel

Dear Guest, many thanks for your response. You suggest I look under “property owners” and I assume you mean the forum on this site and, if so, the only related topic I see refers to Health Insurance. My query is about the possibility of living without health insurance. Judging by the response from others, it seems the Algarve expat is either fully insured or finds the question of state healthcare either too tiresome or too politically incorrect to mention. We need information - official or unofficial - on the state healthcare system in Algarve. A fascinating topic worthy of input from all. David & Isabel
