fire in portugal

Hello carvoeiro has anyone any information on the fires in portugal
that are being reported on TV news in the UK.

I was watching the news on RTP and SIC last night. The fires are north of Lisbon and are proving quite difficult to get under control. Unlike the fires in Southern France they are due to natural causes not arsonists. I understand from a friend in Lisbon that temperatures hit 40C yesterday!!!

next week on holiday, good to hear that the fires are in the north
very bad news for people in the north though.

There was fire near Monchique a couple of weeks ago and you could see the smoke from CVO. That also make the local TV.
