Moving to the Algarve

Post by netyoda »

I'm planning to move out to the Algarve in the next twelve motnhs, but I have many, many questions for you wonderful residents of Carvoeiro.

The main ones at the moment are :

1. Are there any decent rental agencies around, or do all properties go to the holiday market?

2, My main requirement - the property HAS to have broadband connection. Which areas are hooked up at the moment and what are the relevant costs.

3. There's a Chinese restaurant (Malaysian?) in Rocha Brava with a real-estate company attached. Does anyone know if they have a web presence, or do you have the contact details?

Thanks for any help, I am researching myself but I know how helpful the cvo peeps are.

Regards,

Hello Yoda

Broadband costs 34.99 a month. As long as ther#s a phone line, you sould be able to get online in about a week. It's available in all but the most remote areas.

There's plnety of apartments for long term rent, and if they're not in a tourist town like CVO, then you can get a 2 bed place for around 4-500 euros per month on lease of at least 6 months.

Don't know about the chinese at Rocja Brava. Not many restaurants seem to have a web presence though.

Thanks Bob,

That's v v useful info and helps me plan my outgoings :)

I'd love to live around cvo, but will most likely be in a cheaper area such as Silves.

Now awaiting my Portuguese linguaphone course :)
