It's already been seconded, you'll have to third it :)

Gary/Gaynor wrote:Mark at Skyrealm is a Sky engineer email: skyrealm@hotmail.com He is also as much up to date as anyone about the Sky situation what with being in the business locally. Having a Sky dish I asked his opinion about this so maybe worth contacting him direct, very helpful. I do have his number but I think best to email so you can write your questions in an email then call if necessary. Hope it all works out for you and the move goes well.

I was about to post Mark too. infact I just emailed him about the beams not being able to provide UK TV much longer. he still says we will get programmes and will not lose all channels, but it's a waiting game.

With regard to WiFi like Macassa we have been looking for a deal. Unlike the UK, Portugal do not have many service providers so the monthly charges are high. They usually want to sell a package including their TV. that tends to cost in excess of €30+ (plus IVA). On that basis we chose not to be paying about €400 a year. A friend suggested as we have an iPad not a laptop, we buy an unlocked MiFi, which we did on Amazon. it was less than £50. We then went to a shop at Aqua in Portimao (PT or something like that) and bought a PAYG SIM. €5 which included some airtime. you can then top up. You can run 5 devices at once. hope that helps. :D

Mark and others in the Algarve who provide TB to expats is right in that we may not lose all of our FREESAT channels but he does not know yet which we will keep.
It odds on that all the main UK channels will be lost leaving us with a hotch pot of the obscure.
We have PT cable and have found that we watch as much ( some times ) more on the channels they provide. We can get Sky news .
Having Sky plus in the UK we just program in those we do not want to miss.
When next out will be checking our internet connection to see if it will support, filmon or Expat shield, we have internet as part of our Cable package and I keep credit on a dongle to use on our travels. We will see which is better.

I am still trying to decide if it is worth me moving my dish to the new apartment at the end of the month !! Spending all the money just to loose the channels in ? May. If I don't move it no one will want to buy it so I am stumped as to know what to do !!!! Any

Apart from your labour time why not remove it if the dish is bigger than 1.2m. I only say that size because on installation of our dish we were told go for 1.5 at least. I know this maybe all be pointless soon, but let's see.
