Crash course Portuguese

Post by Nick Pt »

Hi Everybody,

My name is Nick. Have been living in the Algarve since 2007. Have become really fed up not speaking Portuguese.... Had some lessons in the past, but had to quit because of work.
Would like to organize a crash course in Portuguese for a small group. My idea is to organize lessons 4 to 5 days a week. Starting January. Two or three hours a day for a 2 month period, and see were we end. This way we´ll maximize our learning curve. We can keep costs low and motivation up!
Interested? Send me a PM

Steady on, people are trying to assist you - your sarcasm is totally unnecessary.

I think you'll find that it's necessary to have a teacher for any course of instruction 'crash' or otherwise :)

My reply was not meant sarcastically. I just donot see what one has to do with the other. Again, I would like to organize a portuguese language course. I am not looking for a teacher( although of course I need one). The only sarcasm I detect is not in my post. Have a good evening!

It worked for me Sue - teachers, groups, classes, one-to-ones etc - a useful topic - perhaps the OP didn't read the contents.

I believe they are doing basic Portuguese lessons at Tiffany's cafe bar in the new year.

We used http://www.clcc.pt/ in Portimao and they were good. We dipped in and out which is not recommended.

Living in Portugal will make it easier for you as you can get plenty of practice - with your Portuguese friends. Resist the urge to 'speak' English in Portuguese speaking company - even if they feel sorry for you and reply in English - persevere.

Good luck :D
