Mortgage Insurane
Our mortgage interest went up considerably with no reason why. On enquiring we can reduce it if we purchase life cover. We were quoted a huge amount, certainly way higher than we pay for the same type of cover in the UK. Has anyone got any recommendation?

From what I see on Deco site simulation (Portugal' Consumer Protection Association) the cost for a mortgage life insurance for a couple both 50 years old for 300.000€ is between 2.000€ to 5.000€/year

Cobertura (Coverage): Choose: Cobertura mais abrangente (More/better coverage)

Can you not take out a UK life policy and assign it to your Portuguese mortgage provider? If not my wife can give you the contact details of a good Portuguese broker.
