AL licence (per se) no longer required?????
Does anyone have a view on this? http://www.rentinthealgarve.co.uk/portu ... local.html
The following is a quote from the site:-
Quote
"There is no longer a 'licence' as such. One is required to register a “Local Lodging” activity, by written notification to the Mayor of the local municipality, and is known as a “mera comuniçacão prévia”. The following is required:
Name, address, identification documents of the Owner/Operator.
Identification and the location of the property to be let.
The type of property and occupancy capacity.
The anticipated start date of the business.
Contact details in case of an emergency."

If this is correct (a big if) and there is no longer an AL number, what, if anything, should one put in any advert regarding AL?

You're misinterpreting the comments on that site. What they mean is that you don't now need to apply for advance permission to do lettings (which is normally what is meant by getting a licence) but you do still need to notify, in advance, various bodies that you are going to do so, and it is the notification process that results in an AL number being issued.

There never was a "licence" and I don't know where that idea arose. It was always a registration with the local council and still is. You do get a registration number allotted as Richard says.

To be fair I also call it a license biffa. License to rent in effect. Of course you also needed a habitation license to begin with too.biffa wrote:There never was a "licence" and I don't know where that idea arose.
