……yes it does work, I’ve just tried it………..but I wouldn’t says it’s easy: it’s messy and takes ten times longer than the spray…….but thanks peterm and guest I may try it on ‘heat rings’ as you suggest…….

Don't know if it works, but Lakeland sell a chimney cleaning log!
