Sofas
sorry don't know the opening times but they seem to have a permament promotion on, we also got our cream leather sofas from here and we also were impresssed with the service delivery etc. Dining room table and chairs, bed and mattresses were bought from a little furniture place in Porches. 1st road on the left after turning into road just up from the International school.
ALSO would advise to buy furniture in Portugal there are some good places dotted around, just a case of looking, failing that go across the border to Seville / IKEA, we bought some items of small furniture, pictures, kitchen crockery etc from there. We had a look in the UK so see what we wanted and then flew into Seville drove past IKEA picked it up and after 2.5 hours it was all in the villa.

We just took delivery of two sofas from SofaVIP. The girls in the showroom were very helpful, and the delivery men were extremely friendly and diligent. They had a lot of difficulty getting them into our apartment, but succeeded with some ingenuity, and none of the swearing that would have accompanied the process in the UK.
Just been out to CVO and taken delivery of our sofas ordered in September.
Delivery would have been on time had the driver not gone in the wrong direction from CVO. We are only 5 mins down the road and had given them a good map but the driver had to ring twice to ask the way. Eventually, they arrived and the packaging was removed and taken away. What a difference they make to the lounge. Think we are now finished with furnishings but would definitely use Sofavip again.

Why don't you take a look at IKEA? (I know they have sofa-beds)Scorpion wrote:Do Sofavip sell sofa beds? Had a look at the ones in Conforama when we were over at christmas and didn't think much to theirs.

You could go to Lisboa or Sevilla.

We bought two sofas from Sofavip last year, one of which was a sofabed. It is superb, but it was 1168 euros. However, I think you get what you pay for, and this is very comfortable and well-made. On some of the cheaper ones which we looked at the mechanism appeared flimsy by comparison.
The Portimao Retail Park has its own exit off the N125, just west of the main Portimao exit - you can't miss it.

Thanks - we have a sofa bed which came with the property but it really needs recovering - Had a quote of E650 for recovering this and two arm chairs which seems steep to me - just looking around at the option of a new sofabed - but as you say they are not cheap for good quality. Already have a double and 2 single beds in the apartment so the sofa bed will only be used when we have more than 4 staying - which wont be often. May stick with what we have.
Thanks to everyone for all the info.
After a long weekend trawling all the shops and retail parks, we have finally got round to ordering sofas and a bed.
I agree with all the postings on here about Sofa VIP, Sylvia couldn't have been more helpful, I would recommend the shop to anyone.
However ended up ordering from Brit Sofa, purely on personal design preference (my wifes!). Seem to remember seeing Brit Sofa mentioned on here before but can't find any comments good or otherwise, has anyone on this forum brought furniture there?
I now have two very very worn
but comfy sofas (3 str + 2 str) to give away. If they are of any use to anyone -maybe as a stop gap- they will be available to collect end of May. Also two odd single beds will be available the same time.
