Broadband internet connection price help please!

Hi All

Hope the sun is shining - Am buying a share in a villa in Rocha Brava and need internet/email access whilst I am out in Portugal. I am thinking about getting a Vodafone USB modem but wanted to know the cost of getting a hard wired connection through PT(?) or similar. I am popping out next week to sign contracts so wanted to try and have the info to hand and make a decision beofre I got there. Any help would be greatly appreciated - If anyone has used the USB modem thoughts on this would be useful as well.

Dont use Sapo, they are the worst Telecom company I have ever dealt with, poor connection, slow speed, and dreadfull customer service.
World Telecom are a bit more money, but excellent speeds and service, and all in English if you need it.

I would agree, we changed from Sapo to World Brokers.
But haven't Netcabo (or someone similar) got a really good deal going at the moment, something like €9,99 a month?

Perhaps I should withdraw the offer of beer to kiss in favour of u Misty!! I am not really that fussed about the fone line it is the internet access that is most important so any more info u can find I would be most grateful

I have had some very confusing email conversations with Netcabo as a result of this thread! I said I needed a phone line and internet and they said I can't have this without a phone line. Hmmm. I sent another email and not had a reply yet, so will maybe try again on Tuesday. I can read bits of Portuguese, but nowhere NEAR enough to understand the website!

i'm coming over with wireless laptop and wondered if i could get 1 of these usb's, but apparently the vodafone 1 is a 12 month contract and i'm only in portugal for 6 months. and i dont have a phone line in my appartment, anyone have any suggestions or know what i could get? as i cant live without the internet, sad i know but never mind
