We are coming out early next month and want to change the bed in our villa for a slightly larger, more comfortable one.
Does anyone have experience of buying new beds in or around CVO; any recommendations would be appreciated.
There are various shops in the Algarve shopping centre and just before on the right hand side. Don't know about in Cvo. Do a search on this forum as I think there are quite a few threads about buying furniture on here.
Yes, Conforama at the retail park next to Algarve Shopping (Guia) would probably be a safe bet as they have a good range. Their delivery charges are fairly minimal (I think its €10 per bed and €9 per mattress or something like that). And they are quick to deliver.
Most of the Portugues beds are smaller than UK beds. We bought an Engish superking size bed from Style furnishings. They are on the EN125 at Vale de Lousas. Elaine, who runs the place, imports her beds from UK and can obtain most sizes.
My advice would be,instead of looking at the large super store type furniture shops, try the smaller ones that you see around as these tend to be more personal, cheaper and can deliver when you want.
We bought some items from Moviflor and had to arrange to come out again as they couldn't deliver for about 6 weeks. We also bought items from one of these smaller more personal shops and before we left the shop our sofas were on the van ready to be delivered.
Dennis, we furnished a whole villa back in May this year and we bought all of the beds from Style Furnishings. Very good price and quality and they delivered and set them up for us all included in the price. This is the link for them.
I bought a kingsize bed from Sofavip earlier this year which I've been very pleased with. They do free delivery, assemble the furniture, take all the packaging away and always turn up on the correct day etc ringing first.
Bought two single beds from them later for the other bedroom as the kingsize bed was so comfortable.
Yep, we were in there yesterday buying a few bits and pieces. It looks great. Only wish we could find a way of getting a couple of their sofas back to UK economically.
Thanks for everyone's ideas. We found the bed we wanted at Style Furnishings and it was delivered within the fortnight, just before I returned home. And very comfortable it was!
