Yes, they've sold up, I think Jean isn't in the best of health and it became a little too much of an effort for her to travel, I'll miss them, they are lovely people, I'm still in touch with them in the UK and will pass on your regards if you wish.

My agent has informed me that installing the overnight usage meter for a pool heater facility is initialy very expensive and cancels out any savings that may be had by switching from the coventional meter?

Your agent has probably not looked to hard. We had a night meter (not just for the pool but for all electricity) installed a few years ago, and it cost the equivalent of about 80 euros. It may be double that now. Just take a look at your electricity bill to see the different tariff and then calculate the hours required to amortize the cost.

If anyone is interested in solar heating, and has the room, I have six large (3mx 1.2m) unused solar lanels for avaialble at a good price. We have six on our pool (11 x 6m) and they are very effective.

Bob, I've gone for the night meter but it's costing 12 euros a month to install, don't know whether I've made the right decision though, I don't use the place in the winter, as a matter of interest where do you site the solar panels?.
