Bring you digital sky box and you can buy a big dish here for it and your sky should work ok.

Apologies if this question has already been asked and answered. I have had a dish and sky digibox installed - this has limited free to view channels. Will my sky viewing card from home work in the box if I bring it with me whilst we are over?

No. The card is dedicated to a specific box these days and so you cannot bring your subscription card from the UK to a box out here

Another question whilst I'm on. Does anyone know how you get that Portuguese SportTV channel? They often show premiership matches live.
thanks

Re the Portuguese channel, I think most of the football comes via cable except internationals which is on the main PT TV.

Have you asked the people who supplied the box and dish whether they can also get you a card to go with it? I have seen cards advertised also.

Your card will work, but a rented box needs to be connected to a phone so SKY can interogate it (that's the contract you agree to in the UK). The way round that is to buy a digibox. You need a box/decoder with a big front end. The PACE box is best. I bought one via a local installer as mine bought in UK didnt have enough front end amplification, even with the big dish.
